Today was the big Japan Earthquake of 2011.  We were in Ibaraki Prefecture, north of Tokyo to take wedding photos.  Masami was all done with make-up and we were about to get started when the earthquake hit.  It wasn't terribly strong, but it was unusually long.  News came in quickly that it was an off shore earthquake and the magnitude was 8.4 (later revised to 8.8 and again to 9.0).  As a precaution all the stores shut down and we had to use the emergency exit.  We headed home and turned on the news.  The earthquake shook the family's fishtank enough to splash water out, some of which knocked out the internet router.  We couldn't get online until we got a new one the next day.
